I love music. All kinds of music. What you're going to find here is a featured artist and song each day, in alphabetical order. I'm keeping it simple, so if you want a quick read, I'm it. Please let me know how you like my choices, suggestions for improvements, an artist and song you'd like to see, whatever it takes to get you to leave me a comment, because that's my payback for doing this.

BONING UP ON THE B's
It's really incredible how hard it was to choose only one featured artist today. Billie Holliday, Bobby McFerrin, the Beatles ... the list was huge. As I was scanning the list, though, one band's name leaped out at me and when a big grin was my response, I knew I had found my target group. I remember dancing to my mom's records when I was a little kid. What memories! It might be cheesy, but it was fun. Here you go. Today's featured artist:
BONEY M
Boney M was created in 1976 by German producer Frank Farian (same guy responsible for Milli Vanilli) by bringing together four West-Indian studio musicians. They never really took off in North America, but became insanely popular on the Euro-disco scene. During the 70's, Boney M had a string of top-ten dance hits, such as "Daddy Cool", "Rivers of Babylon", "Rasputin" and "Ma Baker". They also had a seasonal hit with "Mary's Boy Child", which is definitely my favorite version of this song.
Boney M continues to record albums to this day, and still enjoys immense popularity in Europe as a techno-dance group. Here's one of their hits. I still remember my high school history teacher introducing this song to us as part of our Modern History course.
I guess you could say I'm a hedonist. My favorite things in the world tend to stimulate the senses to the nth degree. I like to wear soft, delicate fabrics. I love to eat and savour every single bite. Meals with me can take a long time. I love wine, for the colour, the scent, the taste and the feeling. Massage, both giving and receiving, is not a luxury but a necessity IMHO. I'm not a girly girl, but I'm a dyed-in-the-wool romantic. I love old movies with happy endings. I also enjoy a good cry, but not too often because the world is just too lovely. I love the way dancing makes me feel. I never get tired when I'm dancing, but sometimes the crash afterwards can be brutal. That's when I need TLC the most. Music that touches my heart can lift me up and make me feel beautiful inside, even in the most awful moments. Um, other than that, I'm a dancer. Not married, although I came close a couple of times. I'm too married to my career, I guess. I teach dance class to little kids, too. So that is me. You want more, you'll have to ask.

Wow - Boney M! I haven't heard them since my vacation to Europe in the summer of 1978.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
